Relativ oft bleiben Loks auf DKWs 2275 stehen, weil der Schleifer keinen Kontakt zu den Punktkontakten hat. Besonders kritisch ist es bei der sogenannten Bogenfahrt, da dort relativ wenig Pukos sind. Genau in der Mitte sitzt dort ein einzelner Puko, und wenn man Pech hat gleitet der Schleifer genau mit seinem Loch darüber, wobei er natürlich dann den elektrischen Kontakt verliert. Seitdem ich dieses Loch für die Schraube mit einem Stück Messingblech zugelötet habe, sind extrem langsame Rangiermanöver möglich. Das Märklin dieses Problem mittlerweise erkannt hat, beweisen die Schleifer der 220/221 oder 044, die kein Loch mehr haben.

Sometimes a locomotive stops, because the pickup shoe does not have contact, particularly on double slip turnouts 2275. In the center of the 2275 there is one lonely point contact and if you are unlucky, the hole in the pickup shoe will stop right there and your locomotive looses electrical contact. I soldered a piece of brass into the hole of the pickup shoe and polished it smooth (see photo). Now the locomotive can drive very slowly across these turnouts. I think Maerklin has recognized the problem. Newer locomotives like the 220/221 or 044 no longer have a hole in the pickup shoe.

Kommt es auf einfachen Schienen zu Kontaktproblemen, ist meist der Anpreßdruck des Schleifers zu gering. Mit einer Spitzzange braucht man nur wie im Bild ersichtlich das Federblech nachzubiegen. Probleme bereiten leichte Loks auf Weichen oder Kreuzungen, wenn der Anpreßdruck des Schleifers zu hoch ist. Dann kann es passieren das die Räder den Kontakt zur Schiene verlieren.

If there are contact problems on regular rails, usually the contact pressure of the pickup shoe is too small. With fine needle nosed pliers one needs to re-bend the spring plate as shown in the picture. Lightweight locomotives however can cause problems on turnouts or crossings, if the contact pressure of the pickup shoe is too high. Occasionally the wheels can lose the contact to the rails.

Sollte die Lok immer noch, insbesonders auf Weichen oder Kreuzungen stehen bleiben sollte, hilft es manchmal den Schleifer leicht zu verbiegen. Dadurch erzeugen aber insbesonders Roco-Schleifer während der Fahrt ein unangenehmes ratterndes Geräusch.

If the locomotive still has contact problems, mostly on turnouts or crossings, it sometimes helps to bend the contact plate of the pickup shoe slightly. However, after doing that, pickup shoes from Roco produce an unpleasant rattling noise while driving.
