The Beginning
November 1997: Der oberste Teil meiner Modellbahn ist abnehmbar. Das erleichtert nicht nur eventuelle Unfälle in den tiefer liegenden Ebenen zu beseitigen, man kann auch die einzelnen Module in ein anderes Zimmer oder im Sommer nach draußen tragen und dort bequem bearbeiten.
November 1997: The top of my model course is removable. Possible accidents in the deeper levels are easy to correct and you are able to carry the individual modules into another room or in the summer after outside to work comfortably.
Juni 1998: Die folgenden Fotos wurden auf der Straße vor meinem Haus gemacht. Das Fundament des Lokschuppens wurde mit Merkur-Kopfsteinpflasterplatten (grau rustikal) ausgelegt. Die Löcher werden später die Fachwerkkonstruktion des Pola-Lokschuppens aufnehmen.
June 1998: The next photos were made on the road before my house. The foundation of the locomotive shed was laid out with Merkur coppled pavement (grey rustical). The holes will take up the framework construction of the Pola engine house later.
Zwischen den Schienen wurde Faller-Mauerpappe (Holzbretterimitation) und an den Enden die Merkur-Kopfsteinpflasterung verwendet. Dadurch soll eine mit Brettern abgedeckte Grube vorgetäuscht werden. Anstelle von Punktkontakten wurde ein 0,1 mm starker Draht gespannt, der praktisch unsichtbar ist.
Between the rails is Faller wallpaper (wood boards imitation) and at the ends the Merkur coppled pavement. Thus a pit covered with boards is to be pretended. In place of spot contacts a 0.1 mm strong wire became strained, which is practically invisible.
Mit Sprühdose und Pinsel wurde alles farblich gealtert.
With spray can and brush everything was weathered.
Die Schienen des Kohlekrans von Faller liegen links und rechts vom mittleren Gleis. Bei der Inspektionsgrube habe ich auf einen Mittelleiter verzichtet, weil es unrealistisch aussehen würde. Dort fahren eben keine Loks.
The rails of the Faller coal crane are set left and right of the middle track. The inspection has no spot cantact, because it looks unrealistic. There are no driving locos.
